Bjørn Moe, artistic director and conductor

Bjørn Moe is the current Conductor and Artistic Director of the Nidaros Cathedral Boys’ Choir (Nidarosdomens Guttekor).

His illustrious journey into music began at the tender age of eight as a young soprano in the Nidaros boys’ choir. Maestro Moe’s passion and raw talent led him to stand out from the crowd and he rose through the ranks to be the choir’s conductor and musical leader in 1973.

Aside from his work with the choir, Maestro Moe was also the professor of music at the Conservatory of Norges Teknisk-Naturvitenskapelige Universitet (NTNU) from 1973 until 2015, where he specialized in the education of future choir leaders. He is widely recognized as one of the leading choir trainers in Norway and being the man responsible for elevating Nidarosdomens Guttekor into one of Europe’s leading choirs.

Maestro Moe was awarded the King’s Medal in Gold in 2002, a reward for extraordinary achievements of importance to the nation and society, for his work with the choir.

Dr. Marilyn Brattskar, Organist

Dr. Marilyn Brattskar holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts and has given many solo concerts as an organist in the US and Norway.

Formerly the director of Music and Organist at churches New York, Washington, D.C., Minnesota and California, she currently serves as Cantor at Holmen Church in Asker, Norway, where she conducts five of the churches choral ensembles in addition to being the main organist for all worship services, funerals and weddings.

She has extensive teaching experience at all levels of education and has worked as a lecturer at numerous teaching institutions both in the US and Norway.
