Bjørn Moe, conductor
Maestro Moe is the choir’s conductor and artistic director. Formerly a soprano whilst the choir was in the hands of his predecessor Ludvig Nielsen, he took charge of the choir more than 40 years ago. Maestro Moe was also a professor at Trondheim’s Conservatory of Music. Part of his responsibilities there was the education of new conductors.
Since his taking over in 1973 he continuously challenged the choir to achieve high competencies. For his service to the advancement of choir music, he received a number of honours, amongst them the King’s Medal in Gold.
